Bats B Gone’s Attic Restoration Process

Preparing The Impacted Areas

Before we do remove any contaminated materials, we will use high-mill plastic to cordon off the work area from the living or working spaces. We cover the flooring throughout the area in the attic hatch location. We may remove materials through a gable vent, but often, this space is too small to be effective.

We use protective suits, boot covers, respirators, and eye protection in any severely contaminated attic. We will light up the attic during the restoration process, and we may run vacuum hoses from the outside to the inside of the house through an open gable vent or window. Also, machines may be set up in rooms to remove any odors or contaminants from the air.

Removing Contaminated Materials

We must remove all the contaminated materials from the attic space. These materials include sheetrock, flooring, and stored goods ruined by wildlife feces and urine. Of course, we remove all soiled as well.

This material will be removed by handbagging using thick-milled airtight plastic bags tightly sealed. These materials will only be moved through 100% protected spaces, including gable vents or windows. We never move materials through living spaces.

A HEPA vacuum system is also often used, which captures the materials in large insulated bags. All the bags are either loaded into our trailers or in a dumpster

Decontaminating And Deodorizing

Once we remove the animal waste, debris, and soiled insulation, we begin decontaminating and deodorizing the attic space.

We “wash down” all contaminated surfaces using a non-toxic, safe antimicrobial, bactericide, and deodorant treatment that delivers long-lasting protection.

Our products break down organic waste, kill parasites like fleas, ticks, and mites, kill infections that spread between people and animals, and neutralize the smells and pheromones the wildlife leaves behind.

Once finished, your attic will be safe and healthy!

New Attic Insulation

Now that the attic has been decontaminated and deodorized, your attic is ready for new insulation. Depending on what type of insulation you request, we replace all of the insulation with the proper R-Value based on Connecticut’s Energy Code Compliance code.

Bats G Gone’s Attic Insulation team installs batted fiberglass insulation or blown-in cellulose insulation. Each type of insulation has unique benefits, and we can discuss your options. No matter the type of insulation our team installs, our insulation gives better protection because the insulation we remove is often outdated or inadequate.

Our insulation will protect your attic and give you years of heating and cooling cost savings.

Stage one is getting suited up and starting the contaminated debris, which includes feces, insulation and any damage.

Bats B Gone Wildlife Also Provides Crawl Space Cleanups and Restorations

Your crawl space is ideal for critters such as skunks, mice, and squirrels to take refuge, especially during colder weather. And as long as wild critters are in your crawl space, they can find ways into your living space, including walls and your attic, when they become a significant nuisance due to the damage they cause and associated contamination.

If you have a crawl space, in all probability, you seldom see what is going on in that area. Generally, your crawl space area provides room for ducts, pipes, and electrical wiring. But do you know that as much as 35% and more of the air you breathe moves from the crawl space into your living space? And do you know that wildlife, such as mice, rats, skunks, raccoons, and more, use that area to reproduce, pee, and poop? And to make matters worse, unhealthy bacteria and mold thrive in the contaminated areas of urine and feces, along with parasites like ticks, mites, and fleas.

Please, for your family’s health, we advise if you have any indication that uninvited critters live in your crawl space, get them out now! Call our crawl space cleanouts restoration team at (203) 885-3822 if you want a crawl space inspection. We would love to help you out and keep you healthy!

Bats B Gone Wildlife Have A Loyal Customer Base Who Love Our Work

5 star rating

“…Outstanding Service.”

Bats B Gone Wildlife (Joe) providing outstanding service. We had over 16 bats in our attic! He was able to find and seal up the points of entry, remove the bats, provide the clean up and insulation removal. The insulation removal was a huge job. He spent extra time and he fees were very reasonable.

We had other companies come here to give estimates. They had slick presentations and folders and programs that cost $5,000.00 more than Bats B Gone Wildlife. Joe reminds me of a down to earth expert business owner that knows what he is doing.

We went with Joe and will always recommend his business. (His employees are respectful, followed all safety protocols as well.)
